Ten Reasons to Consider Art Important:

1. Visual arts, as music, theater, dance, and the written word, are a real and solid reflection of the character and vision of humanity in each moment and era of our existence.

2. Visual art, whether one is aware of it or not, saturates our society, giving depth, color, identity, and meaning to our ideas, to information, and to ongoing communication.
3. Visual art is stimulating. One piece of art can trigger a wide range of emotions in those who view it from anger and disgust, to outright joy and a sense of well-being and peace.
4. Art can be a therapeutic method of expressing creativity, releasing ideas that might not be easily articulated in any other way.
5. Visual art is reflected in fine food, architecture, gardens, wearable fashion, interior design, book illustrations, publication layouts - anything that relies on aesthetics to attract viewers or customers.
6. As being around children changes one’s perspective, through an artist’s eyes people often see the world a little differently – a little more deeply.
7. Culture might be defined as the creative human expression of complex ideas, experiences, history, and unique heritage. There is no culture in a society without art.
8. Visual art reflects the garden of diversity and individuality nestled in each human on our planet.
9. Art is the audacious, fearless, righteous face of our world.
10. Without visual art, the world would be a very dull place indeed.
